Programme (General)

The ISKK provides a balanced programme designed to meet the intellectual, physical, social and emotional needs of your child. We offer a challenging educational programme to students from Kindergarten to grade six. From grade seven on we work together with “our twin school”, the ISSH (International School of Schaffhausen).
Being a Candidate International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) in its first years, the ISSK will implement the Primary Years programme (PYP) in our area. With the experience of the SBW and the ISSH, we are able and committed to guarantee a high quality education.
Using the PYP curriculum framework, teachers strive to develop and exemplify the following attributes and dispositions expressed in the student’s profile:

• Inquirers
• Thinkers
• Communicators
• Risk-takers
• Knowledgeable
• Principled
• Caring
• Open-minded
• Well-balanced
• Reflective

All ISKK classes are taught in English. We also offer German, as it is the official language spoken in East Switzerland. Students for whom English is an additional language (EAL) are given extra support to help them assimilate as smoothly as possible to the learning environment.
The Early Years Programme is for three to four year-old children and four to five year-old ones. For any class students must have reached the entrance age on or before August 31st. The Primary School contains the classes from Kindergarten up to grade six:
